Every movement comes from the brain: walking speed from DNp09 minus MDN, turning from DNa02 right minus left, firing from the Giant Fiber. The game only supplies senses and physics: walls and wasps that expand in view as the fly walks toward them, or they toward it, drive the looming neurons of the eye on that side (fly eyes see 160 degrees either side; the screen shows the central 90), a constant 10 Hz into LC9 stands in for the urge to explore (stronger LC9 input walks faster but silences steering), and walls block movement. Touching a wall stimulates ascending neurons that carry body signals up from the legs; in the connectome they feed the moonwalker neurons (MDN), which make the fly back away. Rates are over the last 200 ms of fly time.
